ASIA TAKES HOME 88 STATUES AT THE 2018 LONDON INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

Dentsu named Regional Network of the Year for the Asia region

Dentsu Inc., Tokyo named Regional Agency of the Year for the Asia region.

Illusion, Bangkok named Regional Production Company of the Year for the Asia

 

(New York, 5th November 2018) LIA, one of the most prestigious Global award shows in Advertising, Digital, Technology driven work, Health & Pharma and Branded Entertainment, today announced the winners. The 33rd Annual London International Awards judging convened over a 10-day period. The Juries, drawn from the world’s most recognized talent and presided over by industry leaders, viewed and scored every entry within their medium, ensuring that all the work was judged equally.

 

This year Asia brought home 88 of the coveted LIA statues, 15 Gold, 35 Silver, 38 Bronze. They also attained 20 Finalists.

 

In total 705 LIA statues, in addition to finalists, were awarded from 40 countries. The top countries were United States (211), Germany (111), Australia (53), United Kingdom (50), and Canada (41).

 

“Good ideas transcend boundaries.  Asian advertising has proven that.  And this year’s winners showcase the best that Asia has to offer on the international stage.  My congratulations to all Winners who have pushed the standard of creativity even higher,” commented Barbara Levy, President of LIA.

 

Dentsu was named LIA’s 2018 Regional Network of the Year for the Asia region. Wins from Dentsu Inc., Tokyo; Dentsu One, Bangkok; Dentsu Jayme Syfu, Makati City; Dentsu Creative X Inc., Tokyo and Dentsu One, Taipei all contributed to this award.

 

Dentsu Inc., Tokyo was named Regional Agency of the Year for the Asia region.   

 

Illusion, Bangkok was named Regional Production Company of the Year for the Asia region.

 

LIA Of The Year Awards are calculated based on a point system of winning work chosen by the Juries across all media. LIA uses the creative credits that are input at time of entry to award those points. The Network, Agency and Production Company within the region that attain the highest scores based on entries that win Statues or attain Finalists’ status will be honored with Of The Year Award

Paul Chan, Chief Creative Officer of Cheil Hong Kong and LIA Integration Juror, stated “It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of this integration jury, led by the one and only Mark Tutssel. Hands down, this is one of the strongest line-ups I've been locked in a room with. Thoughtful, insightful, critical and opinionated. It was a cracking year for work too. The top pieces were all incredibly brave, powerful and thought provoking. More importantly, they permeated culture and sparked conversations that led to great understanding, which ultimately led to positive cultural change. Kudos to all the deserved winners.

He went on to say, “Imagine that you are picking up the best pieces of ads in 2018 that will set the tone for what creativity looks like moving forward, while casino-goers are gambling on their luck outside the judging room. We experience the same unexpected juxtaposition when Thai ads appear on the judging screen after having watched hundreds of sleek, sophisticated and Hollywood-like ads. It is a very contrasting and surprising feeling. You can be sure to see some reactions, whether laughing or tearful.
