Press Release
22nd January 2013

Australia's Ramesh Sathiah will lead the prestigious London International Awards 2013 TV/Cinema/Online Film - Music & Sound Jury.

Ramesh is a Partner and Creative Director of Song Zu, Australasia's most awarded Music and Sound Design Company with Studios in both Sydney and Singapore.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Music at Southern Cross University, Ramesh launched his music career working in studios throughout Sydney as an engineer/producer for various Australian artists as well as his own band who were signed to Warner Music.

Ramesh joined Song Zu at age 23 and by 25 was made Creative Director of the Singapore operation. In this time he worked on some of the biggest campaigns in the world including Motorola (directed by Oliver Stone), Singapore Airlines, Nokia and countless others.

Currently based at Song Zu Sydney, Ramesh has won a string of Awards for his recent work including Smirnoff featuring Pharrell Williams and Bundy 5 (Ain't No Nancy Drink), the latter winning a London International Award, a Gold Clio, an AWARD award and two Adfest awards.

“The Music & Sound medium for TV/Cinema/Online Film is relatively new as an independent medium for LIA and generated some zealous debate in the 2012 judging room. Music and sound plays a hugely important role in advertising and communications and is not always given the recognition it deserves for its creative impact on audience. We invited Ramesh to chair this year’s jury because we felt that his passion and extensive experience in the music industry would ensure that the same attention, enthusiasm and passion continues on in the 2013 judging room. We are absolutely thrilled that Ramesh has accepted.” stated Barbara Levy, LIA President.

Sathiah said: "I am thrilled to be invited to be Jury President, it really is an honour and i am looking forward to being inspired by the best work in the world and meeting everyone else on the Jury. It's going to really suck going to Vegas though..."
